- Does the camper shell rubber seal require glue to install?
No glue is required. The camper shell rubber seal has a spring clip embedded in the EPDM rubber that clamps onto a thin flange. You can optionally glue the seam using cyanoacrylate (SuperGlue), but avoid petroleum-based adhesives.
- Will the camper shell rubber seal work with thin metal or wood frames?
Yes, but there must be a flange no thicker than 3/16". For wood or thick materials, add a metal strip (like aluminum flat bar) around the opening for the camper shell rubber sealto grip.
- I am wondering if the compression boot can be trimmed to fit around the third brake light?
You cannot cut the boot to fit around the 3rd brake light. Here are a couple of things you may want to do.
- Remove the brake light and cover the opening with a thin plate.
- Instead of installing the boot to the shell, install the boot into the truck window opening. Do this only if you remove the rear window.
