- Will the accordion boot seel work with thin metal or wood frames?
Yes, but there must be a flange no thicker than 3/16". For wood or thick materials, add a metal strip (like aluminum flat bar) around the opening for the accordion boot seel to grip.
- I have a fiber glass camper shell. I want access to my camper shell from inside my cab but I don't want to lose heat and have a weatherproof seal. Will this product provide the right solution?
The accordion boot creates an air-tight and weather tight seal between the cabs. It does not provide any insulation. However, heat loss in minimize by the air-tight seal.
- I am installing a boot between a truck cab and utility box.The box is about 1/2" thick. Will the boot clips expand over that type of material?
The material will not stretch that far. The maximum size that flange can be is 3/16" to receive the rubber. One solution to consider is to use flat bar and attach that around the opening in the box. One thing you must also remember - both opening need to be the same size and similar in shape.
