Frequently Asked Questions
- Will the accordion boot rubber work with thin metal or wood frames?
Yes, but there must be a flange no thicker than 3/16". For wood or thick materials, add a metal strip (like aluminum flat bar) around the opening for the accordion boot rubber to grip.
- Will one of these work on both sliding windows on truck & cap? I don't want to remove either sliding window.
In order for the boot to attach to the vehicle there must be some sort of thin wall or flange. Keeping the slider window will cover any flange or thin wall. In short you will not be able to use any or the boots if you keep the sliding windows in place as there will be no mechanical method to install the boot.
- Can you make the accordion gasket in different colors?
Sorry the boot only comes in black. We have never tested it, but the rubber is epdm and with the right paint is can be colored. From the research the recommended paint should be an acrylic coating specifically designed for epdm rubber. Usually this is paint for roofing. Latex paint should be avoided.
