How to Choose the Right Rubber Boot Seal

You can acquire rubber boot material for your special project. This seal is manufactured from long-lasting EPDM synthetic rubber substance and incorporates a flexible spring steel clip for affixing to any flange. This material is sold by the foot. To specify how much you need measure the length around your cab opening. You have three alternatives of rubber to use for waterproofing your cabs together.

Tips for Getting the Right Fit

To determine how much you want measure the space around your cab opening. It is important that both openings are perfectly the same size. Make sure to measure the opening before ordering. Every installation is different.

Why EPDM Rubber Is the Best Choice for Long-Lasting Seals

The EPDM rubber seal is engineered to handle harsh conditions such as cold. It's tailored for both long-term installations. Compared to generic seals, this material lasts longer. It's a smart investment for anyone looking to upgrade their truck cab connection with a dependable sealing solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is the accordion boot installed?

The boot slips into the opening between the truck cab and camper. Use clamps or sealant for a tight, weatherproof connection.

  • Can I keep my sliding windows and still use a ?

Unfortunately, no. The slider windows must be removed because the truck sliding rear window seals equires a clean flange or wall to attach. Sliders block access to this area.

  • I am getting a camper shell with a sliding glass window so I am taking the window out of my pickup and it looks like the Compression Boot would be what i need, I am wondering which is the best to get the Compression Boot - Part Number 540 or the Compression Bulb Seal - Part Number 545?

Both boot function the same. We carry both types as different cap manufacturers will use one or the other. But there are slight differences between the two styles.

The flap seal 540 is a single layer of rubber that presses against the cab. In order to seal the edge is a single straight flat edge.

The bulb seal 545 is different in this way. It has a rounded edge. the rubber is double walled with an empty cavity. The material is slightly softer and will conform to the shape of the truck.

Both seal perform similarly. When it come to which one it is really a matter of preference.
