Frequently Asked Questions
- Will the topper slider boot work with thin metal or wood frames?
Yes, but there must be a flange no thicker than 3/16". For wood or thick materials, add a metal strip (like aluminum flat bar) around the opening for the topper slider boot to grip.
- Can I keep my sliding windows and still use a ?
Unfortunately, no. The slider windows must be removed because the topper slider boot equires a clean flange or wall to attach. Sliders block access to this area.
- I am installing a boot between a truck cab and utility box.The box is about 1/2" thick. Will the boot clips expand over that type of material?
The material will not stretch that far. The maximum size that flange can be is 3/16" to receive the rubber. One solution to consider is to use flat bar and attach that around the opening in the box. One thing you must also remember - both opening need to be the same size and similar in shape.
