- How do I know if I need a camper shell boot for truck or a compression boot?
Use a camper shell boot for truckwhen both openings are identical in size and shape. Use a compression boot if there are size differences or no solid flange available.
- Do I need glue to install the accordion boot?
The rubber boot does not require glue for installation. It has a spring clip embedded in the rubber. When the boot is placed over a flange, the clip squeezes the rubber securely. The only optional gluing is at the seam using cyanoacrylate (SuperGlue). Avoid petroleum-based adhesives like rubber cement.
- Will one of these work on both sliding windows on truck & cap? I don't want to remove either sliding window.
In order for the boot to attach to the vehicle there must be some sort of thin wall or flange. Keeping the slider window will cover any flange or thin wall. In short you will not be able to use any or the boots if you keep the sliding windows in place as there will be no mechanical method to install the boot.
