- What is an accordion boot?
An accordion boot is a flexible rubber connector that creates a weatherproof seal between two compartments, such as a truck cab and camper shell.
- Does the camper boot seal require glue to install?
No glue is required. The camper boot seal has a spring clip embedded in the EPDM rubber that clamps onto a thin flange. You can optionally glue the seam using cyanoacrylate (SuperGlue), but avoid petroleum-based adhesives.
- Can you make the accordion gasket in different colors?
Sorry the boot only comes in black. We have never tested it, but the rubber is epdm and with the right paint is can be colored. From the research the recommended paint should be an acrylic coating specifically designed for epdm rubber. Usually this is paint for roofing. Latex paint should be avoided.
